Default Have a Minipet Organizer/Portfolio

Since there are so many miniatures, I think it would be a great idea to be able to obtain a "Minipet Portfolio or Organizer" of some sort.

It would show you all the minis you have, how many of each, and how many of each type of rarity.

You should also be able to display it in trade somehow. So when you're selling minis, you dont have to show only 7 at a time.

Perhaps it could be crafted by an NPC? or maybe obtained in another way.

It would be a great addition for us mini collectors.

Good idea, would really help those who hoard minis.

Minipet book (similar to dungeon book) would be cool.

Would be fine, provided it would hold ONLY dedicated pets, else it would further ruin what is a ruined economy as it is.

I think that the trade should be expanded in any case, not just for minis. There are times when I want to, say, get heaps of stuff from pre into post, and it takes 6-7 trades to get it all across.

As for the 'minibook' that seems to be suggested, why not just write them all down and then tick them off when you have them dedicated? Tbh, I do obsess a bit, but it's useful to me. Instead of "DAMN! I've got to go to the HoM to check which minis I need to buy!", I just flip through the book to the minis section.

Or if you're not into writing, start a spreadsheet. They're not hard to maintain, and don't get lost.

I can see all the minis that i have by dedicating them in the HOM

I agree with LanaDarkess... pen and paper work just as well.... I also have a folder that contains info that I want to have on hand at a glance. A list of minis I have, whats dedicated whats not, amount of gold on mules, amounts of materials for cons (iron, feathers, dust), list of trophies to keep (nick items, collectiable weapons that i need or want), list of weapon upgrades and inscriptions (sorry can't remember them all) list of skills and elite skills (same, my memmory is really bad)... etc.

Another book to hold onto in a storage pane is.... well, its just a pain!

Probably should be merged with your other thread as they pretty much cover an umbrella topic, and both would be satisfied by my Mini-Pet Maker suggestion in that thread.

An alternative is to do what the Festival Hat giver is doing, but for minipets.
He will accept to take care of your minis, and he'll be able to creat new ones.
But here's the twist.. no matter if they were dedicated or not, these ones are
untradable and customized to avoid any abuse. Make it account-wide and any
character on your account can get a temporary mini from your collection.

Has been suggested on the other thread, and I'm not sure whether I support this one or not. It wouldn't impact the economy, agreed, but is there really a need for it? If there is lack of storage space, sell what ones you can/don't want, and destroy the ones you really don't want/are dedicated/can't sell. Or if you're so attached to your minis that you can't give them away, but can't find space for them, PvP characters work well (for me) as extra storage.

Now, I know I don't have all that many (I've only kept 2 that I've dedicated that I really like), but is there any need whatsoever to keep EVERY SINGLE mini that you dedicate, even if you don't like some of them?

and If so, Arenanet offers extra storage space for extra RL-rupies. So I do not think this will happen at all

Or, you could just keep track of where all of your minipets are.

Even supposing I supported this idea, trying to do it with the current book system probably isn't feasible. I think ANet stated somewhere that 18 pages is like their limit on those. That just means that a new system would have to be implemented just for minipets, which I don't feel is wort the time investment.

simple, take the npc from the menagerie that lists what animals you're missing and sorts by region, change text to be minipets by bday year and have their colors in the text box correspond to rarity, ie gvg henchmen's elites.

not really hard.

or, add missing minis to hom.guildwars2.com akin to missing heroes/armors/weapons.

1 of the places i personally feel gw is lacking is achievement/item monitoring, both ingame and via external (web) applications. sure this will be fixed in gw2 with their ipod app and such but doesn't hurt to invest <1 hr into this.

granted, a pokeball would take a little more coding but would be much more impressive. but would also open up a whole realm of possible nerdgasms integrated with polymock and asuran culture/lore and such.

I think I recall some dev telling that books can have only a few entries. 18 or so.

If that is still true, then this is not feasible.

Now, if you go for something more like a new tab in the PvP item creation panel (that PVE characters get too) or the Hat/Costume makers, but for miniatures, then I'll be with you.

I have several Storage tabs of pets, so I'd like to be able to discard them or give them away and make non-tradable copies of the ones I've already dedicated.

As for checking wich ones you are missing, either something like coil suggested, or just use the wiki for those you don't have after you have a way to check all you have.

I hope there would be two lists
for pets that I actually have in xunlai and on all characters
and for pets I "cutomized"
if you "customize" pet its added to this list and it disappears from your eqipment
than you can show it off everytime you want
you "lose"(=cant sell) it but its forever bind to your account
